Field Trip Volunteers for Grades 5 & 8 (but parents of all grades welcome!)

Assalamu Allaykum dear parents and students,

If you like the outdoors, enjoy learning about community forests and potential clear-cutting of endangered woods, then Thursday’s field trip is for you!

Grade 5 & 8 classes will be going to the Beaver Pond Forest (in South March Highlands) on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. We do need volunteers from any class, parents or responsible relatives to accompany us on our tour.

We will have experienced tour guides to give us an idea of what is going on in the area in terms of development.  Grade 5 students will be writing letters to city councillors and provincial members of parliament and/or local papers about the clear-cutting. Grade 8 students will be mounting an art display to express their feelings as well, insha’Allah.

Please consider joining us if you can get away from your other (many) responsabilities for a few hours to learn a lot!
