    French is spoken in Quebec because historically it was a French settlement. This goes back to the colonial days. As Quebec joined other provinces to form the country Canada, it retained its linguistic freedom and continued to this day.
    Quebec french does have differences from Parisian french, most noticeably pronounciation differences. In addition, there are many words used in Quebec which are still used today but sound archaic in international french. One example, is the word ‘char’ for car, however literally ‘char’ translates to ‘chariot’. πŸ™‚

    P.S: I can’t go on the computer at 6:30 because I am busy at that time! Is that okay? It is okay if it is not, because I don’t need it if I posted it early!

    Here is the answer for the challenge question :People in Quebec speak French, because historically the French settled there at the time when Europeans were exploring North America. First French explorers were: Giovanni da Verrazano, Jacques Cartier and Samuel de Champlain.

  8. When the french first came, they took over most of the lands. in the 7 year war they lost almost all their lands except for Quebec. that’s why they speak french
